Poem

Imperfect World
Living in an imperfect world,
Families at war,
Teenage girls feeling lonely,
Being sexually abused by their fathers,
Working four jobs trying to make ends meet,
While girls on the other side of town are as spoiled as a banana four years old,
Little princesses telling their daddy's "I want this, I want that"
Living in an imperfect world.

Living in an imperfect world,
Where young adults are fooled to sell drugs at a corner street,
Where girls as young as 13 are getting punished nine months later for making stupid mistakes,
Where families are divested because their teens are sent to jail for theft or even murder,
Where peace is impossible to find,
People frustrated that race is STILL an issue today,
Living in an imperfect world.

Living in an imperfect world,
Is the U.S. having another depression?
When is Haiti's meteor going to bounce?
Is Africa ever going to have an obese?
Living in an imperfect world.

Living in an imperfect world,
People as careless as to agree that war will fix anything,
To let anger fume like a raging fire,
That emotions like envy, grudge, and evil can consume our minds,
Living in an imperfect world.
